Manny’s: The Future of the Transamerica Pyramid

The Transamerica Pyramid is easily the most famous building in San Francisco. Built in 1972, it has come to define the city’s skyline and its spirit. Some have even said that it’s a metaphor for the city by the Bay.
Cities around the country face huge questions about what to do with their downtowns and office buildings. San Franciso, and many cities like it, seem to have more questions than answers when it comes to the future. There are lots of uncertainties around commerical office space, the impact of WFH and whether offices can make for good housing.
One person who isn’t uneasy is real estate developer and new owner of the Transamerica Pyramid, Michael Shvo. As he said in a Chronicle op-ed, he’s betting big on San Francisco. His company, SHVO, has committed $400 million to transforming the skyscraper and its surrounding neighborhood into a destination filled with beautiful redwoods and unique experiences.
Join us for a fireside chat with the Michael to discuss his vision for the Transamerica Pyramid and what it means for the future of San Francisco.
