Galería de la Raza presents The AO Series – Part 1 of 3, celebrating the culmination of the ReGen Artist Fund Cohorts 1 & 2.

The AO Series will feature the final six grantees’ artist oeuvres, offering an opportunity for the public to see the deep regenerative and at times collaborative work of each grantee’s completed body of work. We visit the idea of the salon with this series, offering Galería as a gathering place to initiate conversations, share ideas and inspiration, and provide support and feedback for future creation. We also take a moment to reflect on the art practice and creation process itself: the challenges faced along the way, the lessons learned, and the artistic perseverance and problem solving that shaped our understanding of supporting the creative process through trust-based philanthropy.

This series reflects a $250K investment to San Francisco’s creative art sector directly funding 15 San Francisco artists over the past two years.

The first in the series features artists Anthony Jimenez and Alexa Treviño, exploring memory, community, and honoring loved ones through image-making and material practice.
