Stories That Change Us designed and facilitated by Kat Evasco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – With You Productions and Brava for Women in the Arts announce “Stories That Change Us,” a transformative storytelling workshop series designed to amplify immigrant voices and counter harmful narratives through the power of personal storytelling. Facilitated by Kat Evasco, this free three-session workshop culminates in a public performance at the Brava Theater Center on December 7, 2024.
In response to increasing anti-immigrant rhetoric in the current election cycle, “Stories That Change Us” empowers participants to reclaim their narratives and contribute to a more nuanced public discourse on immigration. Through intensive writing and performance training, participants will develop powerful 2-3 minute personal narratives that bridge the personal and political.
“Now is the time for immigrant communities and advocates to take control of the narratives and elevate the conversation towards humanity,” says Evasco, whose extensive work in theater and cultural strategy has been recognized by the AAPI Fund, California Arts Council, and the Gerbode Foundation.
