Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema: Film Crawl on Mission

September 5, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Two images show street scenes in an urban area with people on motorcycles riding along the road. Buildings and trees line the streets under a clear blue sky.

Bernal Heights is a diverse, creative, innovative and happily quirky neighborhood. As a response to the city’s doomsayers, we are expanding our efforts around the Hill by activating a new corridor that’s within our reach – where the western slope of Bernal meets Mission & 29th Streets. It’s time to spotlight the vibrancy of the venues thriving there.

On Thursday, 9/5 we’ll transform a Mission Street cafe, a collective workspace, a small theater and a child’s learning center into pop-up film theaters. The following evening, Friday, 9/6 we return to Cortland Avenue for a second film crawl of film screenings in an art gallery, former bank space, a framing shop, a cafe, an engineering office and the branch library. Finally, on Saturday, 9/7 we head over to Precita Park for our annual “Under the Stars,” a traditional outdoor park screening featuring films for all ages.
