Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Say what you will about the New York Post, writes Joe Eskenazi, but it’s stirred up questions about whether District 2 primary voters will care why their supervisor was appointed. Read about the Post’s allegations that former mayor London Breed tapped Stephen Sherrill for D2 to curry favor with his mentor (and her patron), former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Oscar Palma covers the rent strike by tenants at Valencia and 20th streets, who charge Mosser Living, one of the city’s largest landlords, with failing to make repairs after a fire a year ago, or respond to complaints about rodent infestations, no heat, and damaged walls.

For back story, see why tenants feared Mosser’s “temporary evictions” after the fire.

And wow, can you believe all the flowers popping out around town this week? It’s spring. Which means it’s “Bouquets to Art” time at the deYoung/Legion of Honor, where floral designers riff on works of art. Lydia Chรกvez has the guide to what’s on now at museums.

More soon,
