Ashoka, Athena, AZ, and Cristina are a collective of interdisciplinary artists working on unceded Ohlone land. They individually specialize in printmaking, arts education, tattooing, songwriting, and more. These artists met in the 2024 “Queer Ancestors Project Resists!” (@queerancestorsproject) cohort where they explored the medium of lino printmaking as a conduit for activism and (re)connection to indigeneity. As cultural bearers in the diaspora, they honor stories of their ancestors and weave together their lineages. Their independent practices share themes of grief, resilience, legacy, and ceremony.
