New case daily average numbers have dipped below 20 for the first time.

How can we trust SFDPH to report workplace outbreak data, when it won’t even acknowledge the City’s own failures to protect City workers. Not to worry, they have an “ongoing investigation.”

The CDC data used for the chart lags behind the data supplied from SFDPH. SFDPH has yet to update vaccination numbers for the weekend. As of May 18, DPH reports over Ā 76 percentĀ (592,649) of San Francisco residents over 16 had received one dose, and Ā 62 percentĀ (478,644) are completely vaccinated.Ā  On May 18, the seven-day rolling average of shots per day wasĀ 7,056. Covid-19 R EstimationĀ has its estimate for the San Francisco R number at .87, while slightly lowering its estimate for California to .85. All models in theĀ ensembleĀ show San Francisco and California below 1, with a San Francisco average estimate ofĀ .79, while California’s average estimate dropped to .81.

Between April 15 and May 143, DPH reportsĀ 68Ā new cases in the Mission orĀ 11.4 new cases per 10,000 residents. Bayview Hunters Point remains the City’s hottest spot with 90 new cases over the past month or 24.1 new cases per 10,000 residents.

For the week ending May 11, the seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in the City wasĀ 18Ā new cases, orĀ 2.1 new cases per day per 100,000 residents.

The graph above shows the daily totals. DPH will delay cumulative totals for May until May 20.

For the week ending May 15, the rate of weekly change in Covid positive patients fellĀ 29Ā percent.Ā  During that week,Ā  the seven-day average availability of ICU beds wasĀ 34 percentĀ and Acute Care availability wasĀ 25 percent. On May 15, DPH reports Covid patients comprisedĀ 2.8 percentĀ of ICU occupancy andĀ .5 percentĀ of Acute Care occupancy and the City hadĀ 100 percentĀ ICU andĀ 100 percentĀ Acute Care surge capacity.

The latest data from the Federal Health and Human Services department shows last week that SFGH had 5 Covid patients and 83 percent ICU occupancy..

The Citywide weekly average positivity rate has fallen to its lowest level since the pandemic began.

There have been 0 nursing home deaths reported in SF since January 19. There have been 0 new cases reported since April 17. In Single Room Occupancy Hotels (SROs) there have been 34 cases and 0 deaths since March 23.

Covid-related death numbers are anythng but static. According to DPH today, the 541st death was reported on May 8, and is the only Covid-related SF death in May.
