Laborers from Cesar Chavez are the first to get their morning fix of coffee and delicious tamales while the cart is still steaming. This cart will be empty before 9:00 a.m. Photo by Daniel Mondragón

It is 9:20 a.m. but these photos were taken earlier this morning. It is now 56˚ and expected to rise  to 64˚. Details for the next ten days here.

Today, one street: Hampshire  between 25th & 26th where I grew up. This has been my home for 25 years and these are all things I have walked passed literally thousands of times. I don’t usually take the time to stop and notice the fine details of my own street because I’m usually always in such a hurry to get to 24th street. That’s usually where everything is at. Today however, it seems the 33 is running past my house (not the usual route) and even coffee and tamales are being served at the corner. There’s even steam coming off the cart.

Please let us know if anyone’s seen Pollo, that poor chihuahua has been lost for more than a year now.

With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait!  Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.

You can see a map of all of the blocks here.  The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.
