Church enters Mission class tension debate: The Examiner reports that the Archdiocese of San Francisco might soon send a pair of business owners on 24th Street packing. His actions have ignited a class and gentrification debate in the neighborhood, and led to a Change.org petition to save the businesses. Read more here.
Mission ‘roids: Tomorrow, Polaroid SF will showcase Another Year in Polaroids, a compilation of 365 polaroid photos with one thing in common: their muse is San Francisco. The event takes places at 111 Minna Gallery and will kick off at 5 p.m. More information here.
Tonight writer Michelle Tea will screen the film “Valencia” at Adobe Books at 8 p.m. The movie is based off of chapters of her book (also called “Valencia”) that tells the story of the Mission in the ’90s. She calls it “a love letter to Mission subculture.” Stop by Adobe tonight at 6:30 to catch a glimpse of the film.
