Acclaimed food critic Michael Bauer isn’t a big fan of Amber Dhara on Valencia Street, an Indian restaurant that opened this summer.

Per Eater SF:

“He finds it a “disappointing imitation” of the other Amber India-affiliated restaurants in San Francisco and the Peninsula, an amateurish take on a concept he’s found more successful elsewhere. The room is uncomfortably noisy and “self-consciously hip” for his taste. The food skews sweet in the savory, a patented Bauer pet peeve, and even the presentation has moments that are just plain “sloppy.”

  1. in that case, he is a loser, whoever the hell he is, because I ate there the other day and the food was awesome. Went back with friends and was super impressed again. And — fusing sweet and savory is good — keeping them separate is so boring and only important for control freaks.
