It all went down Saturday night.

At 7:51 p.m., a man between the ages of 25 and 29 walked into a store on 16th and Potrero streets, placed a scarf over his face and pulled out a silver handgun. The suspect demanded money from the safe, but there wasn’t any. He took money from the cash register and fled. No one was injured and no arrests have been made.

A little after 10 p.m., two males in their 30s approached a 20-year-old female from behind at the corner of 16th and Mission. The first suspect punched the woman several times in the face before grabbing her cell phone. The victim chased the suspects, and the second suspect then punched her several times in the face. The victim fell to the ground and both suspects fled on foot. The suspects were apprehended later and are now in custody. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    1. Hi Dan,

Great question. Both involved confrontation and the use of fear or violence to steal, as opposed to someone walking into an empty store or home to take what’s there.

      Best,
      Nancy
