  1. Cruisers on Mission would slow down and ask, “Mamacita, you want a ride?” Block after block. Sometimes a male companion did not deter them and I would snap back. My male friends were more concerned than I was.

  4. A friend of mine needed white button down shirts for his job. It was cheaper to buy them at that Salvation Army than to have them cleaned and pressed. He said he would get some of them over again.
