Recall election results by precinct

Turnout

Compare results

  • There was a strong correlation between District 4 voters in 2024 rejecting Joel Engardioโ€™s Prop. K to close The Great Highway and in 2025 rejecting Engardio.
  • The precincts that most strongly supported the Engardio recall in 2025 most strongly supported Engardio in his 2022 supervisor race.

Methodology

The results data comes from the San Francisco Department of Elections.

For the special September election, the Department of Elections collected results in District 4 by “grouped precinct,” rather than individual precincts. That means the data for this election is not as granular as results from previous elections.

In order to accurately compare results with those from previous elections, we grouped old results from individual precincts using a list of consolidations provided by the Department of Elections.

  1. Great work, Sunset! You really accomplished a lot with your tantrum. Tomorrow your life will be exactly the same. We still have a new park. The City just has less money in the bank after catering to your caterwauling.

    1. The SUNSET decides who represents the SUNSET and LIARS are not WELCOME!

You certainly always had the Great Highway at Ocean Beach and we will have it again, because using BS loopholes that don’t apply and taking Billionaire money to privatize the commons is actually an illegal bad faith process, as was Engardio’s entire tenure.

Well, it’s over now. The liar lost, and the criers can cry about it. We’re partying.
Suck it Bernal hippocrites. WE DECIDE.

        1. Most days it’s a ghost town, a few dozen max. It’s ok, you wouldn’t know this because you live on the other side of town and never actually visit when it’s not some BS YIMBY political farty party.

Every day it’s still the Great Highway and soon? Restored to Greatness by law.

YIMBY tools aren’t done being thrown out of town, yuppies.

We’ll be driving right over you soon enough.

        1. No, we “lost” a YIMBY liar and tool of Wieners.

We GAINED a representative AND our power back.

And the lawsuit proceeds – ignore CEQA at your peril, YIMBY TOOLS.

We aren’t done throwing liars out of town.

  2. I would love to see the comparison of turn out %age wise and total amount for this election in d4 and both the 2024 and 2022 elections.

  3. The new park belongs to the whole city and so does the beach. West side residents need to accept that fact. And now you get a totally un-elected Supervisor. Brilliant.

A waste of time and money, I will be sure to go enjoy the new park this weekend.

    1. It belongs to CA as a vital thoroughfare. You still have the beach and path.

Trying to undermine CA law and reduce review/oversight using loopholes = loopy YIMBY liar stuff. The lawsuit against the Lux Liars will proceed.

  4. Former Mayor Art Agnos decided not to rebuild the Embarcadero freeway after it collapsed in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake to open up the waterfront. Rose Pak, the influential civic leader from Chinatown, demanded the city rebuild the freeway to keep tourism flowing into Chinatown. Agnos refused, and Pak led a campaign against his reelection that ended his political career. But he was right. And Chinatown thrived.

I believe that in 10 years, the Sunset Dunes Park will end up being a net positive on the community, and Engardio, even though he lost his political career, will have been right. No tears. Just a healthy dose of irony and, of course, pity for those who lack a vision that does not include the contents of a cement mixer.

This is inaccurate. Pak did not lead a campaign against Agnos’ re-election. But they were never allies again after that.

Mayor Agnos has always told me that Rose Pak was not disloyal in the political sense and did not support his opponents. But she was upset about the freeway no doubt. And Agnos was crushed in Chinatown after previously doing well there.

I think Mayor Agnos sees distinction between “supporting my opponents” and “not actively pushing for me.”

Regardless, Pak did not “lead a campaign” against Agnos. You could ask him. I did.
