Sau Kuen Kwan, a 77-year-old resident of the Mission, was found by San Francisco police officers on Tuesday after having been missing since Monday morning. SFPD had been actively seeking the public’s help in locating her.

On Tuesday at 6:44 a.m., police officers were called out to Dolores Street between 22nd and 23rd streets “regarding a well-being check of an elderly female sitting on the steps in front of a residence,” according to the department.

“After speaking to the elderly female and a witness, officers learned it was Sau Kuen Kwan,” the department said, who “appeared to be in good health and was reunited with her family.”

Foul play was not expected, the department said. Kwan had been considered “at-risk” by the police because she has early stage Alzheimer’s disease, and requires medication for other health conditions.

Kwan had been last seen on Monday at 9 a.m., taking the 14-Mission bus from her residence on 25th Street to Chinatown. At that time, she was wearing a gray sweater over a maroon shirt, paired with black and white striped pants.
