A suspect in the July 24 homicide at the 16th Street BART Plaza was arrested on Sunday, the San Francisco Police Department reported today.
Luis Rebolledo, a 37-year-old male who is suspected of killing a 20-year-old Black man at the 16th Street BART Plaza around 5:30 p.m. on July 24, was arrested on Shaddick Drive in Antioch, the department said.
After the July 24 shooting, the victim was taken away by an ambulance with life-threatening injuries, and died from gunshot wounds in the hospital. The shooting followed a fight with a crowd of about 20 young people at the BART Plaza, Mission Local reported in July.
Rebolledo was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked at 2:59 a.m. for homicide, carrying a concealed firearm, second degree robbery, and other charges.
On Oct. 15, SFPD also arrested Giovanna Ramirez-Hernandez, a 30-year-old woman, for attempted extortion and other charges related to the case. Ramirez-Hernandez was also booked into the San Francisco County Jail.
This is an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.

Crime begets more crime:
“Luis Rebolledo, 37, demanded ‘tax’ from street vendors near 16th & Mission before he shot & killed man who came to aid of women who balked at paying”
It’s long past time to clean up the illegal vending, shoplifting, drug trafficking, and various other cascading criminal activities emanating from the Mission BART stations.
Why did you only state the race of the person who was shot?
🤔
We knew Giovanna was a female.
A shooting outside the BART station during commuting hours. Don’t forget to tell us crime is down! And that the shooter is actually a victim and shouldn’t be forced to endure the indignity of imprisonment.
