Elixir’s website claims they have documented evidence that dates it back to 1858!!
burned down during the 1906 quake, and was rebuilt on the same site ..
i believe Elixir, on 16th & guerrero, claims to possibly be the oldest bar in the city ..
I guess the bar at the corner of Albion & 16th is the oldest in the immediate area, gone by various names/owners…

Yep. Formerly called the Albion. Kind of miss those old days. Still a good bar. Didn’t miss a beat.
