  1. Chris! All should be so lucky as to’ve had such a misspent youth. Watching Godzilla, Rodan (My favorite), even the laughable— to me— Mothra: Good times! (Rodan’s contrail made a lasting impression, hence my photograph.) You are correct re the term “Kaiju”. (And how fast did Rodan fly? As fast as he wanted to!) Cheers! As was exclaimed in Howard Hawks’ classic “The Thing (From Another World)”: Keep watching the skies!
    Cheers!

  2. If I recall correctly, Rodan is one of the giant monsters in the Godzilla universe (the Japanese name for them is Kaiju). He flies & leaves a contrail, which humans see & exclaim his name.
I may be misremembering because I last saw the movie in about 1972. Ah, glorious misspent youth!

    1. Or some millinneal– or even a Zoomer– who is into Japanese “monster” movies from the late 50s (e.g., Rodan, Godzilla) or even early 60s (e.g., Mothra, Ghidrah). You never know.
