I am a native San Franciscan. Since becoming a photographer I’ve found The City always ready for her close-up, blemishes and all. I love doing shots here— can’t let tourists have all the fun.

AM,
So I took your advice and headed over to the Excelsior District, yet another of the many “villages” which make up the “duchy” of San Francisco. I hope some of my shots will be accepted by “Snaps.” (I hope you’ll like them too.) Thanks for your suggestion.
P.S. I sure miss Joe’s Cable Car Restaurant.
P.S. No “snarky” intended, partner.
MPR Howard,
What indeed! Well, the church represents religion (See Karl Marx), Coca-Cola? A play on its “coke” nickname. (Yeah I know cocaine is not an opiate. Artistic license. So sue me. Haha!) and Whiz burgers, for which I have a serious addiction. OK? And you’re welcome.
But what does the photo have with opiates???
AM,
Thanks. I’m going to take you up on your suggestions. But here’s an idea, partner: DIY! You’ve got some good ideas. I’d be interested to see them realized through your camera’s lens. Now get out there and give Edward Hopper a run for his money. (See “Nighthawks”). Cheers!
Good day shot, dude. I’m a native San Franciscan as well and born in the Mission, and spent many a late night at Whiz burgers. I’d cordially ask you to consider taking a late-night shot of that long counter at Whiz and shoot at night when all the action happens on the set there, as I remember, back in the day, when I use to live a block away in low-income housing at Leandro Soto Apartments. You may also want to venture off into the “Big E” — the Excelsior District — and document some shots. This neighborhood ain’t changed much in over 50 years, and it’s not the place most tourists think of when sightseeing in San Francisco.
Great Nice to change focus of the day’s tasks
Thank you for taking the time comment. Cheers!
