I am a native San Franciscan. Since becoming a photographer I’ve found The City always ready for her close-up, blemishes and all. I love doing shots here— can’t let tourists have all the fun.

Indeed. In keeping with my professional photographer mother-in-law’s credo (Always have your camera!) , as opposed to happenstance, by always having my camera, I think of “luck” as the residue of design. Perhaps one day I’ll bore you with the story of “The shot which got away.” (Hint: It involved a homeless person, his shopping cart– and a surfboard.) As for my lending to assisting with solutions, 1) I hope that my photographs bring some light to a situation, in this case, San Francisco’s homeless, and 2) I have been known to pay a person(s) a “modeling” fee, particularly after having been granted their permission to be photographed. I am not a dispassionate observer. As always, your thoughtful comments are appreciated.
. . . and likely not fancy or free.
Excellent happenstance shot. I wouldn’t presume to make assignments; those kill the spontaneity of the happenstance. On the other hand, such “lucky” documentation might/could lend to assisting with solutions.
Thanks for continued rovings.
