Two men were robbed at gunpoint while walking on 23rd and Folsom streets on Monday evening. At approximately 10:30 p.m., the victims, ages 36 and 30, were approached by another pair of men on foot, estimated to be about 20 years old, who demanded a list of items from the victims while one of the suspects threatened the men by brandishing a handgun.

The victims complied, handing over a cell phone, wallet, backpack, and $40 in cash, and the suspects then jumped into a white Mercedes and fled southbound on Folsom Street. No arrests have been made.

  1. Seriously Mission Local. Please follow up with these terrifying reports. Your readers depend on it. Simply reporting more information about the victims than the attackers does little to help (why do you usually report exact ages for victims?).

    1. Chris – This is the information we get from police. Exact ages are likely available for the victims and not the perpetrators because the victim talks to the police and gives his or her age as part of the report. Unless the suspect is arrested, the victim and police have no option other than to guess the age of the suspect.

What kind of follow-up did you have in mind?

      1. More detailed decriptions of the attackers would be nice. Not just their gender and approximate age. FULL DESCRIPTION so we know who to look out for. For all we know these attackers could have looked like Justin Bieber, Michel Cera, Azziz Ansari, Jaden Smith, or someone not even close to those people. What color hair, eyes, what were they wearing, height, weight, skin tone, etc…. An actual description and always include a police sketch if available. We need to weed out the bad guys not let them keep terrorizing the neighborhood.

    1. Unfortunately, many mission residents actually welcome this as the higher the crime/blight, the lower the rents will be. Those of us outraged by violence in our streets are outweighed by folks sympathizing with the criminals.

We need a Batman in the mission to do some vigilante justice. Maybe snipers on the streets shooting folks committing crimes? The criminals have no fear and will continue to terrorize until the community starts kicking some ass.

    2. Police too chickenshit and politicians see no money in preventing crime. They would rather prevent buildings from going up so they can line their pockets from developers
