 Two Vehicle Collisions, One Fatal 

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car near the intersection of Dolores and Market streets on Saturday, November 5. The 55-year-old man was reportedly crossing Market Street near Dolores Street around 7:50 p.m. but was not at a crosswalk. He was struck head-on by a 2010 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on Market Street.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old man, remained at the scene of the crash but was not arrested.

A 40-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured after being struck by an SUV near Mission Street and Precita Avenue on Saturday. The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Mission Street at about 5:32 p.m. when the driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old man, made a prohibited left turn from Mission onto Precita, striking the motorcyclist. The latter was transported to the hospital, where his was treated for his serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police have not reported an arrest in the collision.

Three Robberies

A 45-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday, November 3, near the intersection of 16th and Folsom streets. At about 10:30 p.m., the man was confronted by another man, estimated to be between the ages of 30 and 39, who was armed with a handgun and accused the 45-year-old of owing him money.

The younger man then pointed the handgun at the 45-year-old and proceeded to rummage through his pockets, stealing his cash. The armed man then fled in an unknown direction – police reported no injuries and no arrest in the robbery.

A 36-year-old man was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after provoking a Friday night brawl. At about 7:45 p.m., the man reportedly targeted a 60-year-old man near the intersection of 17th and Mission streets and began punching him repeatedly into unconsciousness.

It is unclear why the older man was targeted, but when he came to, he fought back, knocking the younger man unconscious. The 60-year-old then walked away, while the 36-year-old was transported to the hospital in stable condition, according to police reports. No arrests have been made.

On Sunday, a 26-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by a man carrying a semi-automatic handgun. The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m. near 19th and Mission streets, where the 26-year-old reportedly lives. There, he was approached by another man, estimated to be around 27 years old, who made it known that he was armed and demanded the victim’s property.

During the interaction, the robber struck the 26-year-old several times, then forced himself into his victim’s residence, robbing him of his cell phone, wallet and cash. The assailant then fled in an unknown direction. Though injured, the victim refused medical attention. Police have not reported an arrest in the robbery.

Burglar Climbs into Mission Apartment

A burglar used a ladder to enter and exit a window of an apartment near 15th and Julian streets while its residents, a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman, were asleep. The women thought the burglar entered their home sometime between midnight and 2:30 a.m., stealing four laptops, headphones, a jacket, a backpack, a messenger bag, several books, a checkbook, and two external hard drives. The burglar managed to get away undetected, and police have not made an arrest.
