A 22-year-old man was shot with a handgun at 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday night, police report. The male suspect approached the victim on Mission Street near 15th Street, fired several gunshots that struck the victim several times, then fled on foot.

A reader who arrived at the scene shortly after the shots were fired tells Mission Local that the victim, seated on the curb, appeared to have been hit in the shoulder and was being tended to by an officer and later a paramedic. No arrest was made, but the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Another man was shot and injured on Monday night.
