Pacific Gas and Electric power outages on Friday, October 14.

The Pacific Gas and Electric Company is reporting more than 5,000 customers in the Mission District and Potrero Hill may be out of power as of 10:24 a.m. Friday morning. Another 3,700 customers are affected in Bernal Heights and the Bayview, the company is reporting.

Crews are on the way to assess the cause of the damage. The Bay Area got its first storm of the fall on Friday, with more rain expected over the weekend. About a half an inch of rain is expected to fall on Bay Area cities, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. More than 9,000 customers also lost power in the East Bay, the Chronicle reported.
