Police report a man was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries on 23rd Street between Treat Avenue and Folsom Street at 11:51 p.m. on Monday night. The man, aged 28, was leaning into the passenger side window of a car and talking with the male suspect seated inside, a roughly 25-year-old man. After “words were exchanged,” according to police, the suspect fired shots at the victim and fled in the car.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect has not been arrested.
Shots had also been fired earlier that day, at 6:02 p.m., on Treat Avenue between Kamille Court and Cesar Chavez Street. A car had pulled up alongside a second, parked car when the occupants of both cars shot toward each other and fled the scene. A home nearby, which was unoccupied at the time, was hit but no injuries were reported.
Robbery
At 5:30 p.m. on Monday, two men estimated to be in their late 20s and early 30s approached a 52-year-old man walking to the 24th Street BART station from behind. The younger men ripped the victim’s jewelry off. The man attempted to fight back, but one of the suspects lifted his shirt and showed a black gun in his waistband, and the victim backed away.
The suspects walked to a sedan nearby and fled southbound on Capp Street. The victim was not injured, and no arrest was made.
