A neighborhood group will be hosting a debate between two of the four candidates running for District 9 supervisor on Friday at the Mission Neighborhood Center at 362 Capp St.

The Central Mission Neighborhood Organization is inviting Hillary Ronen and Joshua Arce to address its members on the “top issues” facing the neighborhood, including “prostitution, homeless encampments, crime, and more.”

“No stump speeches, doublespeak, or excuses allowed,” reads the group’s description. “Candidates have received the questions in advance so they can come to the forum ready to offer REAL strategies, solutions, answers and be prepared to take questions from the assembled.”

The event is free and open to the public and will go from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Mission Local is hosting its own debate in two weeks, on October 13. Please RSVP on our Facebook event.

  1. I would like to attend your Oct 13 forum. Sadly, I don’t use Facebook – is there another way to indicate my interest?

    1. This was posted last week, ergo this event was last Friday – but you’re right, we should include dates for clarity. The debate hosted by Mission Local, however, will be next Thursday (10/13) should you like to attend.
