Four people were robbed and beaten in the Mission District in separate incidents on Monday night, losing jewelry, cell phones, and other belongings.

At 2 p.m., a 26-year-old man was working in a jewelry shop near 24th and Mission streets when a man in his early 20s came into the shop and grabbed jewelry from a display. The suspect ran outside but was chased by the store worker.

A second suspect in his late 20s was waiting for his partner and punched the store worker repeatedly in the face when he ran outside the shop, striking him with a chain wrapped around his fist. The second suspect punched the store worker until he lost consciousness.

The victim was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The two suspects made off with jewelry and cash from the shop, and the police have not made an arrest.

Later in the day at 4:13 p.m., two 23-year-old women were walking near 21st Street and South Van Ness Avenue when two 25-year-old men approached them from behind. One of the suspects asked them to turn over their bags, and when the victims refused, both suspects punched the women in the face multiple times and took their backpacks and phones.

The two suspects then fled on foot. The women were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and the police have not made an arrest.

On Potrero Avenue between 24th and 25th streets, an 18-year-old man was approached by two men in their early 20s near 6 p.m. and had a conversation with them. In the middle of talking, one of the men in his 20s punched the 18-year-old as the other man grabbed his phone. Both suspects then fled on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, and the police have not made an arrest.

And at 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning, a garbage can was set aflame on Harrison Street between 23rd and 24th streets, causing damage to the exterior of a building. The police have no suspect and have not made an arrest.
