Police report a 44-year-old woman was returning to her home on South Van Ness Avenue between 16th and 17th streets shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, and as she entered her apartment, a 50-year-old man hit the woman in the head. The victim fell and lost consciousness, while the robber fled with her cash. The woman was transported to the hospital with facial bruising and chest pain, and the suspect was not arrested.

Arrest in Bike Theft

On Sunday, May 29, a 46-year-old man whose bicycles had been stolen from his garage spotted his stolen bike near Cesar Chavez Street and Bayshore Avenue. Police took a 22-year-old man suspected of the theft into custody.
