On Friday, July 22, a Mission resident and also one of the founders of Californians for Justice will be running 50k (31 miles).
Jan Adams will be running the Bay Area Ridge Trail from Bolinas Ridge near Pt. Reyes to the Golden Gate Bridge to honor the 20th anniversary of the organization that develops organizers for grassroots campaigns. Friend, and also a fellow founder, Rebecca Gordon will be acting as her support crew along the way.
Californians For Justice was founded 20 years ago to fight back against Prop 209, the initiative that ended affirmative action in California Community groups joined together in order to create CFJ. Youth and their parents struggled for racial justice then, and CFJ still organizes today in order to help youth develop skills for political and educational campaigns.
