Police report that on Saturday, May 14, at 4:20 a.m., a 30-year-old man was walking in the area of 24th and Capp streets when a black SUV pulled up and two men in their early 20s got out.

The men demanded that the victim hand over his cash and cell phone. The suspects then pushed him to the ground and reached into his pockets, grabbing the phone and money before getting back into their car and fleeing the scene. The victim was not injured, and no arrest was made.

That evening, at 10 p.m., a man in his late 30s punched another man who was walking near 16th and Dolores streets, grabbed his phone, and then ran off in an unknown direction on foot. The robber was not arrested and the victim was not injured.

At 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, a 29-year-old man got into a fight with two men in their 30s on 19th Street between Capp and South Van Ness streets. The two older men took the other’s phone, wallet, and cash before fleeing, evading arrest.

Two roughly 19-year-old men approached a 27-year-old man on San Carlos Street between 18th and 19th streets at 10 p.m. on Sunday and backed him up against a wall. The young men asked the older man what he had on him, prompting the victim to hand over his property. The suspects then fled northbound on San Carlos Street and were not arrested. The victim was left without his driver’s license, debit card, and cash.

Fire Investigation

Firefighters responded to a garage fire on Lilac Street on Saturday at 4:25 a.m. and extinguished it. Police officers at the scene were unable to locate the homeowner. No injuries or losses were reported.

Burglary

At 9:23 p.m. on Saturday, a person house-sitting at a home on 15th Street between Mission and Valencia streets walked in on three men in their 20s in the house, leaving with bikes in their hands. The house-sitter confronted one of the robbers at the door, who said they were there doing maintenance. The house sitter allowed them to pass, then called the police, though the men had already made their getaway.
