Our friends at ATA have several events coming up to help raise money for their rent:

This Friday (April 29) there is a night of short films made by queer filmmakers who have been raised here in SF and are still living in the Bay Area.

Saturday (April 30) Join ATA for a night of “punk- documentarian.”

Next Thursday (May 5) An hour of short films, free admission to contributing artists.

Friday (May 6) SFAI’s 2016 Spring semester’s introduction to film class.

Check their calendar for times and tickets.

From a statement issued by ATA:

“This past November, the San Francisco Mission-based, artist-run, non-profit organization that cultivates and promotes culturally-aware, underground media and experimental art (that’s ATA!) successfully negotiated a new lease on its 30-year home at 992 Valencia Street…So we jumped up in the air, yelled real loud, and celebrated at our New Lease Navidad party on Saturday, December 19.
We also did the math.
ATA‘s rent goes up 44% starting January 1, from $5,200 to $7,500 per month. That’s an extra $27,600 we need to raise in 2016 to keep the doors open not just for ATA‘s film and gallery programs, but for the Right Window Gallery collective, for the intangible asset Other Cinema, curated by the legendary pioneer of recombinatory cinema, Craig Baldwin, and for some of the most influential and historic arts organizations in the Bay Area who count on ATA to provide a place for unique and culturally important media.”
