Shots rang out at 14th and Natoma streets around 5 p.m. today, according to nearby residents. Police say two victims were transported from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries and that the case is under investigation, with officers still at the scene as of 6 p.m.
A nearby resident who declined to give his name said he saw a group of five or six men that he recognized from around the neighborhood having a conversation with two unfamiliar men when he heard gunfire.
“They didn’t even yell, it looked like they were just talking, and then suddenly there was a shot,” the resident said. The group of men sometimes spend time outside the 14th and South Van Ness Laundry at 217 14th St., he said, and were near there when they started talking to the other two men.
After the shots rang out, one of the men, who seemed to have been hit in the upper torso, stumbled into the nearby cafe and bar Mission Public, said the resident. His companions, whom the resident described as Norteño gang members, followed him inside. The other two men left, one of them getting in a red four-door Toyota sedan that had been parked nearby and the other joining him halfway down the block, the witness said.
The two men then sped off in the car eastbound on 14th Street.
Two of the men who were in Mission Public “came out of the bar” and “ran down the block” a few minutes after bringing their injured companion in, the nearby resident said.
There, at 15th and Natoma, both the witness and another neighbor said they heard a second cluster of shots a few minutes later.
We will be updating this post as more information becomes available.

Since it is gang related, police will be like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
