The Mission District saw two robberies and two hot prowls — when someone breaks and enters a home while the occupant is still inside — in the last couple days, resulting in property loss but no serious injuries.

On Wednesday morning at 1 a.m., a 24-year-old man was near 16th and Valencia using his smartphone when two men of unknown ages approached him. One suspect punched the victim in the face and grabbed the phone before both fled on foot. The victim did not seek medical treatment.

On Thursday at 1:50 a.m., a 53-year-old man was asleep in his house on 15th Street between Mission and South Van Ness when he heard glass break in his shed. He went down to the shed and noticed a man in his early 20s halfway through the shed’s newly-broken window. The victim called the police and the suspect fled on foot before he could steal anything.

Later that day at 3:50 p.m., a man of unknown age was in his residence on Harrison Street between 24th and 25th with the front door open when he noticed a 43-year-old woman coming out of his roommate’s room carrying a laptop. He stopped the suspect and recovered the laptop before calling the police, who arrived in time to arrest the suspect.

And Friday at 12:27 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was near 19th and Alabama when she accepted a ride from a 25-year-old man in a green pick-up truck. The man then brandished a handgun and demanded the woman’s cash, which the victim handed over before exiting the truck and fleeing the scene.
