The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is offering free breast cancer education and referrals tomorrow, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their main building at 240 Shotwell Street. The event is part of Breast Cancer Awareness month and hopes to teach San Francisco women “ways to reduce the risk of cancer” and “the importance of finding cancer early.”
The event, held in the health center’s parking lot on 16th and Shotwell, will also feature pumpkin and face panting and a photo-op with the 49er’s cheerleaders. The National Football League partnered with the American Cancer Society to fund the event, and St. Luke’s Hospital and the organization Every Woman Counts — which provides free breast exams to “underserved women” — will also be in attendance.

A Crucial Catch Day – Your Day to Fight Breast Cancer is a nationwide event that aims to provide women with breast cancer education and access to screening resources. We will have pumpkin painting, a face painting artist and photo opportunities with 49er’s cheerleaders. There will be games and prizes for the whole family.
