Police report that a 39-year-old man robbed a Mission Street store between 16th and 17th streets yesterday at 8:15 p.m. The man entered the store, brandished a semi-automatic handgun, and demanded that two women, ages 19 and 20, open the cash registers of the store. The victims complied and the suspect took an unknown amount of cash from both registers before running off.

The store manager, however, chased the suspect down 16th street and around the corner on South Van Ness, to a building between 16th and 17th streets. There, the suspect was arrested by police.
