Public Health Alert!

An explosion of Warrior Fever is expected around 8:30 p.m.. Experts say the outbreak may not occur until Wednesday night.

Warrior Fever, a mysterious new virus , has been sweeping the Bay Area for weeks.  Large sections of the East Bay have been infected. You’ve seen the gear on the streets, and recent reports from the Homestead, the Phoenix and even La Rondalla, suggest the fever’s getting close to home.

Why now?

The Golden State Warriors are about to enter the NBA Finals for the first time in 40 years.

The Who? The What?

The  Warriors are a professional basketball team that plays in “Golden State” which is said to be somewhere in the East Bay.  We know about the Warriors because we are in their primary media market. And, for the past few decades, locals would attend games in “Golden State” to buy high potency weed.

Then things went corporate and you know how that goes.

So for those of you just coming back from Cannes, and those who regularly shun the sports pages, the Golden State Warriors are the new darlings of the basketball world. They play an entertaining brand of basketball with grace and an awesome athleticism. If they win tonight in Houston, they will play in the Finals against (most likely) the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And for those already infected with Warriors Fever:

Where are you watching the games?

How do you like their chances in the Finals against the dreaded King James?

And of course, how will a Warriors championship affect the proposed  boondoggle arena in Mission Bay and development in nearby neighborhoods?
