BART has now resumed service at Civic Center after closing the station earlier today due to an apparently fatal incident at the Civic Center station earlier this morning. Riders can still expect systemwide delays.
SFGate reports that a death occurred on the tracks at just after 10 a.m. this morning. Service was suspended between Montgomery and 24th Street Station, but as of 11 a.m. seems to have returned to single-track service through Civic Center.
The Civic Center station remains closed, according to BART advisories, but officials are encouraging riders to use MUNI instead, which is offering mutual aid.
Local buses near Montgomery: For destinations on Mission street you can catch the 14 or 14L on Mission and 2nd streets. For destinations along Potrero street you can get the 9 on Market and 2nd streets.
Heading downtown via the 14 Mission b/c of major #BART delay. Interesting to see a different street scene. #SanFrancisco
