A donation fund has been set up for Amilcar Pérez López, the 21-year-old shot and killed by police on 24th and Folsom Streets February 26. Money from the fund will assist his family with various expenses, including transporting his remains back to Guatemala and procuring legal representation in the United States.

Pérez-López was the main financial supporter of his parents and siblings, who live in Chiquimula, Guatemala.

Neighbors and community members have held vigils in honor of Pérez-López. A steering committee is being formed to work closely with the Pérez-López family and file a lawsuit against SFPD.

Donations are being collected through the Episcopal Church of St John The Evangelist, where donors may select “Amilcar Pérez López” to designate where their money should be sent. The fund can be found here.

A public Facebook group has been set up as a means to keep the community informed of the latest developments.
