Today’s Block: Shotwell to South Van Ness, 18th to 17th.
I began taking photos at St. Charles School built in 1887. It’s a beautiful old building that was refreshed with new life a few years back thanks to a generous donor who paid for a new paint job. The block is mostly commercial businesses, which were closed, but as usual many people were already out walking to school or on their way to work. The homeless have also occupied parts of South Van Ness in front of the businesses.
