In addition to a potentially fatal stabbing, San Francisco Police report of four robberies and an assault in the Mission this President’s Day weekend. They arrested at least two people.
One 49-year-old woman went to the hospital Friday following an altercation with a man in his early 60s. The woman was near the corner of 16th and Albion around 6 p.m. when the man approached her and asked her to “go out,” according to police. When she refused, he punched her in the face—a blow that caused her to lose consciousness. After coming to, she found a cop on duty and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.
A 24-year-old woman was walking near 16th and Capp Street shortly after midnight Friday when a man in his 20s grabbed her purse. When she struggled with the suspect, he brandished a pistol and hit her with it. She released her grip on her purse and he ran off with it, which held her smartphone and wallet. No arrests were made and the the woman was treated for her injuries at San Francisco General.
On 18th Street near Noe around 2 a.m. Sunday, a 27-year-old man was walking home when a male suspect in his 20s asked the man for his valuables. The man handed over his phone and the suspect ran off.
Sunday at around 6:30 a.m., a 24-year-old woman on the corner of 20th and Capp was approached by four other women who demanded she give them her money. When she hesitated, they began hitting her. A 32-year-old man standing nearby witnessed this and ran over to intervene, but one of the two suspects had a Taser and used it him. Police arrived on scene and arrested two of the four suspects, while the two remaining fled the scene with the victim’s purse. The two women who were arrested, aged 27 and 35-years-old, are in Sheriff’s Department custody facing four felony charges and one misdemeanor.
Early Monday morning, around 1 a.m., four male suspects attacked a 34-year-old man near the corner of Mission and 22nd. They threw him to the ground and took his smartphone, silver necklace, and money. The group of four fled on foot. The man went to a nearby hospital.
