Police have arrested Andres Novelo, 26, and Jose Chan-Perez, 31, for stabbing and killing 25-year-old Casey Bissell. The stabbing was apparently the result of a violent altercation that took place in the early morning of Sunday, Dec. 7, near 18th and Valencia streets.

Bissell was transported to SF General Hospital after the fight, where he later died. Both subjects were booked at San Francisco County Jail on murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, and aggravated assault charges.

The investigation is still open, with “identification matters pending,” according to an SFPD press release. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to pass it on anonymously to the police by calling (415) 575-4444 or to text at tip to TIP411, with SFPD at the start of the message.

  2. It’s fortunate suspects were apprehended. It would not have looked good to have a murder 1 block from your station go unsolved.
