It is 8:53 a.m. but these photos were taken earlier. It is now 57˚ and expected to rise to 63˚with yes, more rain. Details for the next ten days here.
I made my way in the downpour to the block that encompasses 14th Street to Erie, South Van Ness to Folsom.
I chose this block because it’s where my wonderful mechanic has his shop, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time hanging around there, waiting for repairs to be finished up. But I had never been around the corner to narrow Erie Street, which surprised me with its array of murals covering the whole block. The rain was coming down hard and the light was poor, but it was the perfect weather for this block. By the time I completed the walk my camera lens was spotted with rain, my clothes were soaked, and a guy was yelling at me about how crazy I was to take pictures in this weather. So glad I did.
With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can see a map of all of the blocks here. The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.
