  1. The Castro District, commonly referenced as The Castro, is a neighborhood in Eureka Valley in San Francisco. The neighborhood known as “Eureka Heights” refers to the hill streets above Eureka Valley to the west, bounded by Market Street to the north and west, Douglas Street to the east, and 22nd Street to the south.

  2. At least we can agree on one thing, there’s frustration in Eureka Valley, aka The Mission, aka, The Castro, aka Noe Valley. So who is gentrifying who where?

  3. Some psycho has been breaking car windows in that area for weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if this incident was related.

  4. I have no information but I suspect this was a protest against the inhabitation of Noe Valley by gentrified hipsters, although it has been that way for a long time. As Jerusalem goes so goes San Francisco which is currently occupying the Mission District, which should be the capitall of a new hipster free city.

    1. As Jim stated above this is NOT Noe Valley. This is Eureka Valley or the Castro. I seriously doubt anyone making a statement regarding gentrification is going to do so in the Castro. This area has had its share of arsonists. Just a couple years ago there were a whole string of them (see the article below). People seriously need to stop associating everything criminal with a protest against gentrification. “Someone littered…its a protest against hipsters” Common
