It is 8:50 a.m. but these photos were taken earlier. It is now 47˚ and expected to rise to 68˚. Details for the next ten days here. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
I walked the block from Hill to 22nd, Guerrero to Valencia. Hill is such a great name for a San Francisco street–pity it’s just 4 blocks long. Only one of those blocks is in the Mission. Hill starts at Valencia, is interrupted at Guerrero, and doesn’t pick up again until Church. No surprise that there are lots of big, beautiful Victorians in this neighborhood, along with inviting shops and a performance space (the Marsh) on Valencia. Thanksgiving morning was ever so quiet–two cyclists, a dog walker, and a homeless person sleeping in a doorway on Valencia. The Social Security office anchors the corner of Valencia and 22nd.
With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.
You can see a map of all of the blocks here. The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.

Yeah, isn’t it crazy that there can be one street in San Francisco named Hill Street?
