9:10 p.m.   It feels exactly like June with the early vote coming in at 60 percent for David Chiu and 40 percent for David Campos. The campaign expected absentees, which are counted first,  to go Chiu’s way, but progressives historically vote at the polls. Last time Campos nearly caught up, but fell short. This time there’s a lot of optimism that it’s going to go Campos’s way.  Get all Election Results here.  8:40 p.m. The campaign is now at El Rio with supporters chanting “Si, se puede!” 8:20 p.m. Campaign workers for District Supervisor David Campos worked in the Mission District up until the time the polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday to get out the vote. Some political observers such as Tim Redmond of 48hills considered the race against Board President David Chiu a “dead heat.”       Earlier in the evening:

  1. Campos has conceded. Now we have to deal with his policy incompetence here at home in the Mission for another 2 years. Two more years of crime, violence, and filth in my neighborhood.

  2. Campos has lost. G has lost. Wiener and Cohen re-elected. And GOP take the US Senate.

    A good night for reasonable people. A bad night for extremists.
