It’s 7:30 a.m. and 46˚ and expected to rise to a mostly sunny 67˚. Details for the next ten days here.
Today’s block is Shotwell St and Folsom between 19th and 20th. The light is best right now.
The fire house occupies a big chunk of the block. There was some trash, but not as much. It was mostly trash that tells a story, because you can sort of trace back what happened. For example, a bunch of medications scattered on the street next to the box where you keep them for a week –except someone went through them in one night.
I also spotted bird artifacts, which makes me think the neighborhood has some serious love for birds, or is it only Shotwell street?
Slide through the photos to see the rest of my block trek. It’s almost 8, which means I have to publish soon or this Mission Wakes Up will be more like the Mission Has Breakfast.

Photos of garbage = “Local mission content.” So fitting for an area that is populated by just that — garbage.
