Elections are coming up on November 4th, and San Francisco City and County needs your help.
The help usually comes in the form of a poll worker. The basic requirements—besides being willing to perform your civic duty—are that you are a U.S. citizen or legal resident over 18 years of age. The more detailed requirements you can read about here.
Poll workers are an essential part of the democratic process. Every election, more than 2,500 poll workers in San Francisco help conduct an election. Potential poll workers take a one-day training at City Hall that prepares them for the almost 15-hour endeavor. Once hired, they’re assigned different duties such as inspector, clerk and translator.
All poll workers are given a stipend (between $142-$195) and breaks for meals that are provided. Bilingual residents are highly encouraged to apply.
