How many words can you see here? Clove, Dove, Love, aloe... hmm?

It’s 8 a.m., and a fresh 72°. Details for the next ten days are here.

This morning before the Mission Wakes Up, I headed towards the block of Mission Street and Valencia, between 21st and 22nd. Sorry, no Bartlett Street.

The street was noisier but people were rarely seen, except waiting for the bus. It was the kind of situation where you know they are there, but you just can’t see them. The street was also a lot trashier than on my previous block documentation, but the reason is simple: busier street, although I spotted three trashcans altogether.

There’s nothing not to like about these outings: the weather is always nice and coldish, the light is amazingly blue, streets are empty and people are nice in the morning before they start the day.

If you want to participate in documenting your block before the Mission Wakes Up, send us an email at info@missionlocal.com. We would love to see how you experience the neighborhood in the early morning. You can see all essays here.

Happy Tuesday!
