Jamie Linares, 25, turned himself in on Wednesday after the San Francisco Police Department issued a $1 million warrant for his arrest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident on Saturday morning.
Linares was booked at county jail. He is currently on felony probation for a robbery, according to police who did not release a booking photo because of “identification matters pending.”
Linares is a suspect in the accident that occurred at 2 a.m. Saturday when a car ran a red light at Folsom and Cesar Chavez and broadsided a car crossing Cesar Chavez.
The driver of the car, 26-year-old Johny Alonzo-Castillo, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and died of his injuries later that day, according to police.
Police say that Linares allegedly fled from the scene of the accident.
