San Francisco police have taken two men into custody in the homicide of Waynenard Aitemon, Jr., a 32-year-old fatally shot near the corner of 16th and Mission streets this week.

Police arrested Giovanni Figueroa, 25, and Demitrius Puckett, 21, earlier today, according to a statement from SFPD. Figueroa is also being held for a weapons violation.

Aitemon was shot early Sunday morning, and died in the hospital hours later. Police are still investigating the homicide.

Police are encouraging anyone with information related to the shooting to call the department’s homicide unit at 415-553-1145 or the anonymous tip line, 415-575-4444.
