It’s 7 a.m and a crisp 49 degrees in the Mission District, headed to a high of 64 degrees. Details for the next ten days are here.

A woman brazenly escaped a couple of robbers Monday morning near the corner of Shotwell and 24th streets, according to the San Francisco Examiner. Just after 5:30 a.m., the unidentified woman was idling in her car when two men approached and asked to use her phone. One of them pulled out a gun and demanded her property. The woman gave up her wallet, then sped off. The suspect began firing at the car, but she escaped unscathed.

Damage has been tallied from Monday’s fire on Valencia Street. According to KTUV, the three-alarm blaze caused $600,000 in structural damage to the building, and destroyed an additional $200,000 in contents. The fire also displaced 21 people. For those who haven’t yet checked out 20 Spot, a new wine bar in the Mission, KQED has a nice review up. Writer Kate Willaims suggest: “While 20 Spot bills itself as both a wine bar and a restaurant, just going for drinks makes a visit far more enjoyable than attempting to craft a full meal from their menu.” The decor also sounds interesting: “Low-slung, post-war style couches line the entryway, glass bulb pendant lamps cast a soft glow onto the space, and upcycled record box wine shelves hang behind the bar.”
